Ordering Product Help
We sell two types of sealers Penetrating and Surface coatings and many types of cleaners:
Penetrating Sealers: The square footage represented in our website and application work sheets is what we have experience thru our 16 years of applying the products on variety of concrete surfaces.
Penetrating square footage coverage will vary depending on the concrete surface and the ability of your concrete to absorb the product. Because there is such a wide margin of concrete surfaces we have develop averages of product needed to seal the concrete.
In some cases you may end up with extra product. You have two options wait for the initial application to cure well and then apply some extra, or save the concentrated sealer in a climate controlled area. Our sealers in concentrate form will last 12 months before the chemical composition will start losing strength. Once the concentrate is mix with water it will have approximately 9 months before the chemistry will start losing its strength.
Surface Coating Sealers: The square footage represented in our website and application work sheets is what we have experience thru our 16 years of applying the products to obtain the correct film thickness. The correct film thickness will provide a better performance floor with a longer life. The thickness is especially important when the products are being used to reduce humidity transfer, or to obtain a durable floor for heavy foot traffic.
If after the application of the coating you have extra material left it can be a result of:
The coating was applied to thin (using the wrong roller nap thickness can result in thickness problems) which means the coating was stretch to cover more square footage that what it was designed to do. It may look like a savings in cost was achieved but in reality a very thin coat will not work well as a vapor barrier in the case of E10 or E15 epoxy sealers or will not provide the expected durability in the case of Poly Shine or Poly StepGuard Sealers . The extra material can be applied as secondary and tertiary coating application achieving the correct film thickness.
Extra material can also happen when the concrete is less absorbent. The extra material in this case should be applied as additional coatings.
