Maintenance
SealGreen Penetrating Concrete Sealers – Have the Highest Ratings when it comes to re-treatment why?
The sealgreen Concrete Sealer for driveway, garages, or warehouse concrete floors is a penetrating chemically reactive concrete sealer.
Because of it is Chemical Reactivity it becomes part of the concrete. The sealer fills all the upper microscopic pores in the concrete mitigating water penetration into the rest of the concrete.
- Imagine a sponge with hundreds of pores on the surface. Now imagine the same sponge with all the surface pores filled with a chemically reactive crystalized sealer mitigating water penetration. The surface of the sponge has not changed but the inside upper part has. The same thing happens with SealGreen Concrete Sealer. It seals the hundreds of microscopic pores at the surface but does not change the surface, therefore the floor remains looking the same as before the sealer application.
- This technically advanced way of sealing concrete allows for a longer lasting application and eliminates many of the problems acquired when sealing the concrete with a surface coating. like an epoxy or some other surface coating.
- This is why it is the industry’s preferred sealer for outside concrete, and inside concrete like driveways, garages and warehouse floors.
Maintenance
When it comes to doing maintenance, which means to reapply or refresh the seller application, it is an amazingly effortless process.
Since the sealer is inside the concrete, the purpose of maintenance is to insure that as the concrete slowly wears out due to traffic and daily use, new pores will open that were not available at the time of the initial installation. The purpose of the application is to fill the newly open pores. We know that over a period of time (4 to 5 years) you will find less than ten percent of new open microscopic pores. The sealer has an expected life of 20 years.
To re-apply the sealer the process is as follows:
-
Wash the floor with the appropriate SealGreen Cleaner – see list of cleaners below.
-
After the floor is dry re-apply the sealer. Usually, it is going to require 50% less sealer product than the initial installation. Treat the entire floor or the areas that have more traffic or everyday use.
-
Once the sealer is dry, it can be open to regular traffic and use. Do not expose the floor to any water or liquids for a period of 8-hours after application. After 8 hours the floor can be open to full serviceability.
